Chance Eau Splendide marks the inaugural fragrance under the leadership of Simona Cattaneo, president of Chanel Fragrance and Beauty. “I feel very honored and privileged to have joined such an iconic house that I have been looking at with a lot of respect for all of my career,” expressed Cattaneo, speaking in her first interview since joining Chanel in September 2024. A luminous new CHANCE radiating with splendour. CHANCE EAU SPLENDIDE is a magnetic fragrance that unleashes an olfactory whirlwind, diffusing an elegant and captivating fruity-floral trail.COMPOSITIONFor CHANCE EAU SPLENDIDE, Olivier Polge, CHANEL In-House Perfumer-Creator, crafted a radiant and magnetic scent. A vibrant, sparkling raspberry accord, enriched with crisp fruity nuances, delicate rose, and violet facets, gracefully rises, unveiling an opulent and luminous floral heart centered around rose geranium. This exquisite geranium, cultivated exclusively in CHANEL's fields in Grasse, is naturally imbued with rosy freshness and subtle minty undertones. Complemented by sophisticated, powdery iris and enveloped by a mysterious cedar-white musk accord, the fragrance creates an alluring, fruity-floral whirlwind that is both elegant and mesmerizing. Each fragrance in the Chance line is characterized by freshness and a distinctive olfactory signature. For Eau Splendide, perfumer Olivier Polge focused on an exploration of various fruity notes. “I ended up being interested in one accord that smells like raspberry,” Polge explained. “I showcased it in an accord because aside from the red fruit and this peach aspect it naturally carries, it sets itself apart from other berries due to its inherent violet and rosy nuances. I thought: ‘Ah, that’s the start of the perfume.’” The composition further highlights a pure extract of geranium rosat leaf, partially cultivated in Chanel’s own fields. “It has this rosy, very natural impression,” noted Polge, who also infused musks and cedarwood into the fragrance’s base, creating a refined and lasting trail.INSPIRATION"Luck is my soul." Throughout her life, Gabrielle Chanel nurtured luck, believing passionately that anything was achievable and transforming dreams into reality. At CHANEL, luck is not chance—it is a state of mind, an intentional attitude. It signifies a powerful conviction to shape one's destiny. Sparkling, surprising, mystifying—Chance is never accidental; it emerges from timely encounters and intentional meetings, striking with exhilarating force. It captivates you, drawing you irresistibly into its whirlwind. Chance symbolizes audacious success, youthful spirit, and fate's playful invitation. Meant to be seized and treasured as a joy-scented talisman, it embodies continuous movement and renewal, perfectly reflected in its round, infinite bottle. It urges you to confidently bet on yourself, to choose your path, and embrace each new opportunity to play the game. CHANEL EAU SPLENDIDE will be available as 50ml and 100ml Eau de Parfum, starting April 15th 2025.
