Turmeric
Originating from the rhizomes of Curcuma longa, turmeric imparts a rich, slightly bitter aroma with hints of ginger and pepper. Its scent is both warm and complex, reminiscent of the earthy warmth found in Indian kitchens where it is often used to flavor dishes.
Saffron
Saffron was never new to perfumery. It appears in records of Mughal compositions and in the great leathers of the seventeenth century, and it worked as a fixative inside classic chypres — always the under-paint, never the front of the bottle. The real absolute is punishingly expensive, and its leather-honey character was long thought too eccentric for the counter.
