Launched in 1999 by Chanel, Allure Homme marked a significant departure from the house’s previous men's fragrances. Created by Jacques Polge, it paired the crisp freshness of citrus and aromatic notes with warm, enveloping vanilla and woody accords. The fragrance opened with lemon, mandarin orange, and bergamot, giving way to a heart of ginger, lavender, and pepper before settling into a rich base of cedar, vetiver, and vanilla. This composition not only won the Fragrance Foundation Award for 'Fragrance of the Year – Men's Prestige' in 1999 but also introduced Chanel’s first true masculine companion fragrance to its women’s charm.
