Launched in 2016 by Mugler, Angel Muse was created by Quentin Bisch as the first gourmand vetiver fragrance for women. It reworks the DNA of the original Mugler Angel with a distinctive twist: swapping out overt sweetness for savory and briny notes. The composition opens with pink pepper and grapefruit before transitioning to a heart of hazelnut cocoa spread, which adds an unexpected richness. This is balanced by a base of patchouli and vetiver that grounds the fragrance in earthy warmth.
Despite its innovative approach, Angel Muse was discontinued, with some reviewers attributing this to its unconventional combination being 'too strange' for mainstream appeal. Nonetheless, it remains a distinctive scent that blurs the lines between gourmand indulgence and woody complexity.
