B. Balenciaga by Balenciaga is a Woody Aromatic fragrance for women. B. Balenciaga was launched in 2014. The nose behind this fragrance is Domitille Michalon Bertier. Top notes are Violet Leaf, Pea and Lily-of-the-Valley; middle notes are Cedar and Orris; base notes are Ambrette (Musk Mallow) and Cashmirwood. Mid-October 2014 Balenciaga will launch a new fragrance signed by perfumer of IFF, Domitille Bertier. B. BALENCIAGA was created carefully with reference to "every element required in the process of evaluation of what had been done and what had never been done before," says Alexander Wang, creative director of the brand Balenciaga, that with new fragrance wants to make a new breakthrough of the house and to transfer the DNA of the brand with the composition, design of the bottle and style. The composition of the fragrance B. Balenciaga was announced as green and tart, very strong, with subnotes of subtle woodsy shades. The top notes are composed of lily of the valley, violet leaves and green accords of edamame peas. The heart incorporates orris and cedar, while the base incorporates ambrette seed and cashmere wood. The flacon is very elegant and artistic. The glass of the bottle is inspired by the marble floor of Balenciaga's salon located at 10 Avenue George V in Paris, while the stopper was created to suggest the modern style that Balenciaga has cherished in fashion creations and in making accessories. Photos of the advertising campaign were taken by Steven Klein, and face of the campaign is Anna Ewers.

How It Wears
A Signature Fragrance

Ambrette (Musk Mallow)
Ambrette, derived from the seeds of Abelmoschus moschatus, emits a rich, earthy aroma reminiscent of musk and honey. This natural ingredient is prized for its ability to evoke both warmth and mystery in perfumery, adding a subtle animalic note that enhances the overall composition.

Cedar
Cedar, sourced from various species of coniferous trees, exudes a deep, resinous aroma with hints of sweetness and wood smoke. Its scent is both comforting and grounding, reminiscent of old libraries or the quiet solitude of a forest. This versatile note has long been favored for its ability to blend seamlessly into complex compositions without overpowering other ingredients.

Orris
Orris is the refined scent extracted from the root of the Florentine iris. Its aroma is both earthy and sweet, with a distinct powdery quality that evokes old-fashioned talcum powder. This rare ingredient adds depth and complexity to compositions, grounding them with its rich, velvety texture.

Fragrances that pair well with B. Balenciaga
Violet Leaf, Ivy Bloom
Both fragrances build on green florals, so B. Balenciaga's violet leaf and lily-of-the-valley pair naturally with Tulip's ivy and freesia, doubling the green freshness. Tulip's bergamot adds a citrus note B. Balenciaga lacks, while both share white musk and woody amber at the base.
Spray Tulip first for its citrus-green opening, then layer B. Balenciaga on the wrists so the violet and cashmirwood build through the afternoon.
