Launched in 2016, Baraonda by Nasomatto is an Oriental Woody fragrance created by Alessandro Gualtieri. It opens with a striking whiskey accord that captures the essence of a fine dram, followed by warm spicy and woody notes that add depth and complexity. The heart features rose and floral accords, which balance the rich boozy top notes before giving way to a musky base that includes amber.
Within niche enthusiast circles, Baraonda is widely regarded as one of the best whiskey-inspired fragrances on the market. However, some critics describe it as a 'facade fragrance,' noting that its expensive-smelling boozy opening fades into a more conventional white musk and Ambrox base in the drydown.
