Ane Ayo is a Paris-based perfumer who grew up in Bilbao, Spain, and later studied in the United Kingdom before working in France — a path that taught her to draw on many different sources of inspiration. She initially studied pharmacy before a newspaper article about master perfumer Alberto Morillas redirected her toward fragrance; she went on to earn an MBA in perfume and fashion management and to study at the Grasse Institute of Perfumery. She now works for Firmenich, having also worked with Mane, and finds particular inspiration in Japan and in Menorca, where her flower-themed collection The Flower Shop takes shape. Her work includes A Drop d'Issey for Issey Miyake, Scandal Le Parfum for Jean Paul Gaultier, and Voile d'Ocre for Yves Rocher.
