Launched in 2017 by Jusbox, Black Powder is a Leather fragrance created by Julien Rasquinet. The composition opens with the crisp freshness of apple and black currant, punctuated by the warmth of pimento. As it develops on the skin, tobacco leaf and incense bring a smoky depth, while tonka bean adds sweetness. The base notes of suede, patchouli, and sandalwood create an enveloping warmth that feels both familiar and intriguing.

Rasquinet who didn’t know anything about perfumery beyond his own passion for it, called Bourdon, who decided to take him instead of thousands of other candidates to be his last student, and bare his legacy, as Edmond Roudnitska had done with him. Call it perfumer’s intuition.
