The Story

Burvuvu by January Scent Project was launched in 2018 and is the creation of perfumer John Biebel. The composition blends woody, aromatic, and fresh spicy notes with earthy undertones, rose, leather, musky elements, and a smoky finish. This fragrance embodies the artistic vision of its creator — a blend of traditional olfactory experiences infused with modern sensibilities. The January Scent Project, based in a converted mill building in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, aims to treat scent as an extension of other artistic media like painting and music, merging classical techniques with contemporary innovation.

Application Tips

Apply Burvuvu to pulse points for a rich experience. The smoky and leathery base notes emerge gradually, so allow it time to develop on your skin. It pairs well with layered clothing or jackets where its warmth can be appreciated in close quarters.
