Cuir Caraibes by David Jourquin is a Woody Spicy fragrance for women and men. Cuir Caraibes was launched in 2015. Top notes are Green Mango, Citruses and Bergamot; middle notes are Ginger, Pepper and White Flowers; base notes are Leather, Guaiac Wood, Vetiver, Patchouli and Amber. Known for the collection dedicated to leather, David Jourquin launches two new fragrances inspired by tropical summer aromas combined delicately with accords of leather and packed in characteristic flacons covered in soft leather. The collection of David Jourquin was also presented at the perfume expo Esxence, with a focus on the new editions to mark the year of 2015. CUIR CARAIBES arrives in a flacon covered in blue color leather. The composition opens with a luminous union of bergamot, citruses and green mango, which sweeten gently the floral heart created of white flowers, Jamaican pepper and ginger. The composition is enriched with woody notes of vetiver, guaiac wood and patchouli in an embrace of hot shades of leather and amber. Fragrance Cuir Caraibes was created as a memory of childhood spent on the beaches of Guadalupe, dancing around bonfire, burnt wood, rum and sparkling waves…

A Signature Fragrance

Leather
Leather is more than just an aroma; it’s a texture, a memory of old books or vintage leather goods. Its scent can be earthy and warm, sometimes tinged with the subtle smokiness of tanning processes, evoking a sense of heritage and craftsmanship.

Guaiac Wood
Guaiac Wood is harvested from the Guaiac tree native to South America. Its scent is intense and smoky with a hint of sweetness, reminiscent of campfire embers mingled with earthy undertones. This rich aroma makes it a cornerstone for creating deep, complex fragrances.

Vetiver
Vetiver, harvested from the roots of a tall grass native to India, exudes an earthy aroma that is both dry and slightly sweet. Its scent profile ranges from smoky and leathery to green and fresh, depending on how it’s distilled and aged. This versatile note thrives in tropical climates and has long been cherished for its grounding qualities.

Green Mango, Mossy Musk
Cuir Caraibes's green mango and ginger meet Solution No.7's coriander and moss, and vetiver runs through both, so the tropical, leathery top settles into a drier, earthier musk base. Bitter orange and cardamom on the Solution side keep the citrus present even as the mango fades.
Spray Cuir Caraibes first for its tropical, fruity opening, then layer Solution No.7 over it so the moss and musk anchor the drydown.
