Launched in 2024 by Toskovat', Desert Sermons is a unisex Oriental Woody fragrance created by perfumer David-Lev Jipa-Slivinschi. David-Lev Jipa-Slivinschi, born in Bucharest, Romania, with Russian and Ukrainian heritage, originally worked as a filmmaker and screenwriter before the pandemic drew him toward scent as a medium for memory and emotion. A self-taught perfume-maker who avoids the traditional 'perfumer' title, he launched the brand Toskovat' in 2022, creating 'extraits de mémoire' such as Inexcusable Evil, gaining coverage in Vogue UK and The Wall Street Journal.
