Launched in 2014 by François Demachy for Dior, Dior Homme Parfum is a near-masterpiece reinterpretation of the brand's iconic iris-leather DNA. The composition opens with Tuscan iris, which reads as a burnt and slightly harsh note, setting it apart from its predecessors. This top note gives way to a heart of rose and sandalwood, before settling into an earthy base of leather, agarwood (oud), and cedar. Regarded by enthusiasts as polarizing and formal, Dior Homme Parfum demands a certain occasion and confidence, offering a distinctive olfactory experience that isn’t intended to be universally likable.
