The Story

Launched in 2006 by Caron and crafted by Richard Fraysse, Eau de Reglisse (Liquorice) is a fresh spicy fragrance that marries the crispness of lemon verbena with the warmth of licorice. The opening notes of mandarin orange and ginger add a zesty vibrancy, while basil infuses the composition with an herbal freshness. As it settles, nutmeg and patchouli lend a soft spiciness to the mix, balancing the sweetness of vanilla and musk in the base. This harmonious blend captures the essence of Caron’s enduring legacy as a house known for its innovative and sophisticated scents.

Application Tips

Eau de Reglisse is best applied in two light sprays — the mandarin and ginger top notes are bright but fleeting. Allow it to warm on your skin for a more balanced experience, as the base notes gradually reveal their depth over time.

Richard Fraysse portrait

Richard Fraysse, a third-generation perfumer and son of Lanvin's André Fraysse (creator of Arpège), was the in-house perfumer for the House of Caron — a company that, from its founding, has always employed its own dedicated nose. His creations for Caron include Délire de Roses (2011), Impact Pour Un Homme (2005), and L'Anarchiste (2000). He has since retired, passing the role to his son William Fraysse.
