The Story

Launched by Penhaligon's in 1949, Eau de Verveine was crafted by Michael Pickthall and David Ruskin to capture the essence of an invigorating citrus aromatic blend. The composition opens with a sharp burst of bergamot and Amalfi lemon, balanced by the green freshness of petitgrain and clary sage. As it develops, coriander and clove add a subtle warmth that contrasts beautifully with the coolness of lavender and Virginia cedar. This fragrance is neither too sweet nor overpowering; instead, it offers a fresh yet grounded aromatic experience.

Application Tips

Apply two sprays to ensure the citrus top notes are well-distributed. The fresh spicy and woody base will develop over time, so this fragrance is best suited for daytime wear when it can maintain its invigorating freshness.
