Eaux de Caron Pure, launched in 1996 by the storied French house of Caron, is a composition that perfectly balances freshness and warmth. The fragrance opens with bright citrus notes from bergamot and mandarin orange, providing an invigorating start. This is soon complemented by the spicy kick of nutmeg and the aromatic richness of Brazilian rosewood. At its heart, freesia and fruity notes add a delicate sweetness, while the base layers of cedar, guaiac wood, sandalwood, and powdery musk create a grounding warmth that lingers throughout the day.

Richard Fraysse, a third-generation perfumer and son of Lanvin's André Fraysse (creator of Arpège), was the in-house perfumer for the House of Caron — a company that, from its founding, has always employed its own dedicated nose. His creations for Caron include Délire de Roses (2011), Impact Pour Un Homme (2005), and L'Anarchiste (2000). He has since retired, passing the role to his son William Fraysse.
