The composition opens with a fresh spicy blend of black pepper and olibanum, which creates a subtle tension against the aromatic petitgrain. As it settles into its heart, the scent reveals a warm spicy accord featuring cumin and sandalwood, before finally resting on a powdery base of cedar and vetiver that adds depth and complexity.

Barnabé Fillion trained in photography before pursuing a thesis on synesthesia and studying naturopathy, phytotherapy, and aromatherapy. He worked as Aesop's in-house perfumer for a decade, creating all of the brand's fragrances and its first candles, including the reimagined Marrakech Intense Eau de Toilette. His 'Biography' series with artist Anicka Yi reconstructed the imagined scent-personalities of historical figures, and he later founded Arpa, a multi-platform project combining scent, music, and architecture.
