Fantastic Man by Byredo is a fragrance that captures the essence of its creator's multicultural heritage and the brand’s commitment to translating memories into olfactory experiences. Perfumer Ben Gorham crafts a composition that oscillates between fresh, aromatic notes and warm, spicy undertones. The star anise and bergamot open with a bright freshness, while cardamom adds a subtle spiciness that leads into a heart of lavender and incense, creating a balance of earthy and woody notes. Vetiver and patchouli ground the fragrance in its base, giving it depth and character.

Application Tips
Apply one or two sprays to the pulse points — the scent opens up quickly but also evolves over time. The star anise is bright initially but settles into a more complex blend of woody and earthy notes, so let it develop naturally without layering too much.

Founding perfumer · 7 fragrances

Ben Gorham, a Swede born to an Indian mother and Canadian father, grew up between Toronto, New York, and Stockholm, and pursued professional basketball before a visa setback ended that path. He turned to art school in Stockholm, where a meeting with French perfumer Pierre Wulff drew him toward fragrance, and he founded Byredo in 2006, launching its first collection — Green, Chembur, Pulp, Rose Noir, and Gypsy Water — that same year. He remains a shareholder and chief creative officer following Puig's acquisition of the brand.
