Florentine Iris by Ermenegildo Zegna is a Floral fragrance for men. Florentine Iris was launched in 2012. Florentine Iris was created by Pierre Negrin, Frank Voelkl, Harry Fremont and Jacques Cavallier Belletrud. The fragrance features Iris, Musk, Violet, Calabrian bergamot and Jasmine. Ermenegildo Zegna is launching a new collection of men’s fragrances - Essenze by Ermenegildo Zegna in collaboration with Estée Lauder Cos. Inc. The collection is expected on the market in December 2012. Five new fragrances embody values of the company - passion, commitment, vision. The fragrances are: Italian Bergamot, Sicilian Mandarin, Javanese Patchouli, Indonesian Oud and Florentine Iris. The designer was inspired by his luxurious high-end men’s Ermenegildo Zegna Couture Collection and hopes it will put forward the house’s name in the world of fragrances. Perfumers who worked on perfumes of the new collection are: Pierre Negrin, Frank Voelkl, Harry Fremont and Jacques Cavallier. All fragrances have one ingredient in common: Calabrian bergamot, but have very different compositions. An interesting fact is that Zegna owns the bergamot harvest used in this collection.Florentine Iris encompasses three different iris notes, accompanied with bergamot, jasmine, violet and musk. The fragrances will be available in 124 ml (4.2 oz) flacons. Each fragrance and its flacon have a different color, to mark the central ingredient of the fragrance.
Composition & Character
How It Wears
A Signature Fragrance

Iris
Iris, derived from the root of the Iris pallida plant, is an emblematic note that evokes both floral softness and woody depth. Its scent is complex, with hints of violet-like sweetness and a subtle damp earthiness that adds a sense of mystery to any blend.

Musk
Musk, once sourced from the musk deer and now often recreated synthetically, offers an earthy, slightly sweet aroma reminiscent of skin. Its versatility allows it to blend seamlessly into various fragrance families, from oriental to woody, enhancing their depth without overpowering them.

Violet
Violet’s scent is a complex blend of sweetness and earthiness, reminiscent of fresh petals with undertones of damp soil. Derived from both natural and synthetic sources, it captures the essence of spring gardens and old-world elegance, evoking memories of vintage perfumery and modern sophistication.
