Florida Water is best applied lightly due to its strong projection. One or two sprays are sufficient to maintain the balance between its fresh top notes and warm base. It's particularly enjoyable during cooler weather when the spicy and citrus elements come through most vibrantly.

Robert I. Murray, a New York City perfumer, introduced Florida Water in 1808. In 1835 David Trumbull Lanman joined him, forming Murray & Lanman, and the fragrance became a drugstore staple by the early 1850s; it is still produced today under the original 1808 formula.
