Gentle Fluidity Gold was created by Francis Kurkdjian for his eponymous house and released in 2019 alongside a silver counterpart, the two compositions sharing a base formula while diverging in their top and heart accords. The concept was explicit and philosophically interesting: the same structure, experienced differently depending on which version you encountered first, demonstrating that context and contrast shape olfactory perception as much as raw materials. Gold was the warmer, richer interpretation — built for depth where Silver was built for transparency.
The shared base of musk, juniper berries, and ambrette creates a woody, slightly animalic foundation that anchors both compositions. In Gold, nutmeg, vanilla, and sandalwood are layered over this base to create a warmth that feels almost skin-like — present, intimate, close to the body. The opening accord of bergamot and citrus provides freshness that the base slowly absorbs, producing a development that rewards attention over the hours of wear.
Gentle Fluidity Gold arrived as Maison Francis Kurkdjian was establishing itself as one of the defining niche houses of its decade — a house built on the premise that mastery of craft could be expressed through apparent simplicity rather than complexity. Kurkdjian had spent years creating fragrances for other houses; his own brand was the distillation of what he had learned about what makes a fragrance genuinely pleasurable to wear over time. Gold became one of the house's most successful releases, worn as a versatile everyday luxury by an audience that appreciated its quality without necessarily being able to articulate why. That kind of transparent excellence is its own form of achievement.

Application Tips
Apply this fragrance in a light mist to let the powdery musk and sweet notes develop naturally on your skin. It pairs well with daytime wear but shines even more during evening hours when its warmth feels just right.

“My creations are an invitation to choose the scent that suits you daily, because I like the idea that each woman and man can express a part of themselves through perfume.”
Maison Francis Kurkdjian was born in 2009 from the encounter between Francis Kurkdjian, a renowned perfumer with scores of successful creations to his name, and Marc Chaya, Co-founder and President of the fragrance house. At only 24, Francis Kurkdjian composed his first perfume, "Le Male" by Jean Paul Gaultier, an international best-seller and game-changer of its time. Instead of relying on a very promising start to his career, he decided, as a precursor, to explore new possibilities and give olfactory creation a new artistic dimension. In keeping with his visionary outlook, in 2001 he set up his tailor-made perfume workshop, against the general tendency of perfume democratization, while constantly putting his know-how and sensibility at the service of the greatest fashion designers (Rick Owens, Hedi Slimane, Riccardo Tisci, Alber Elbaz or John Galliano), as well as the most iconic houses (Dior, Guerlain or Saint-Laurent). From 2003, artists like Sophie Calle, Christian Rizzo or Sarkis called on him to compose his first olfactory compositions - the starting point of his quest to break down the boundaries between different fields and the senses. In 2008, he was named Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres.
