Mark Buxton, born in England and raised near Hamburg, entered perfumery almost by accident: at 21, a German game show challenge to identify 600 perfumes by scent alone caught the attention of Haarmann & Reimer, who offered him a place in their Paris training program. Over 25 years he has created for Givenchy, Versace, Van Cleef & Arpels, Paco Rabanne, Cartier, and Chopard, and composed the very first Comme des Garçons fragrance. He has also lent his daring style to niche houses including biehl parfumkunstwerke and Le Labo.
