Launched in 2005 by Lancôme, Hypnôse was created by perfumers Annick Menardo and Thierry Wasser to redefine vanilla as something more than just a sweet gourmand note. The composition opens with the vibrant freshness of passion flower, leading into the rich complexity of jasmine and gardenia, before settling into a base of vanille and vetiver that reads as both floral and warm. This fragrance was conceived around a novel 'vanilla flower' concept, elevating vanilla to a more sophisticated level. Hypnôse became a long-running department-store bestseller, cementing Annick Menardo's reputation for crafting sensual, gourmand-leaning compositions.
