Idylle by Guerlain was launched in 2009, marking Thierry Wasser's first release after succeeding Jean-Paul Guerlain as the house perfumer. The composition is a soft and mainstream floral, featuring tincture of rose, freesia, litchi, and raspberry at its heart. While it offers a lush bouquet of jasmine, lilac, peony, and lily, it was met with a muted reaction from longtime Guerlain devotees who felt it was too close to generic celebrity-fragrance territory for such an esteemed house.
The fragrance opens with fresh, fruity top notes that give way to the rich florals before settling into a musky base. The green and musky undertones add depth without overpowering the floral heart.

Application Tips
One or two sprays are enough — the fruity and fresh top notes give way quickly to the floral heart. The fragrance blooms over an hour, so apply it in advance for maximum effect. It pairs well with light layers or casual wear.
