Italian Bergamot was created by Pierre Negrin, Frank Voelkl, Harry Fremont and Jacques Cavallier Belletrud. The fragrance features Calabrian bergamot, Neroli, Vetiver and Rosemary. Ermenegildo Zegna is launching a new collection of men’s fragrances - Essenze by Ermenegildo Zegna in collaboration with Estée Lauder Cos. Inc. The collection is expected on the market in December 2012. Five new fragrances embody values of the company - passion, commitment, vision. The fragrances are: Italian Bergamot, Sicilian Mandarin, Javanese Patchouli, Indonesian Oud and Florentine Iris. The designer was inspired by his luxurious high-end men’s Ermenegildo Zegna Couture Collection and hopes it will put forward the house’s name in the world of fragrances. Perfumers who worked on perfumes of the new collection are: Pierre Negrin, Frank Voelkl, Harry Fremont and Jacques Cavallier. All fragrances have one ingredient in common: Calabrian bergamot, but have very different compositions. An interesting fact is that Zegna owns the bergamot harvest used in this collection.Italian Bergamot incorporates Calabrian bergamot oil surrounded by neroli, rosemary and vetiver. The fragrances will be available in 124 ml (4.2 oz) flacons. Each fragrance and its flacon have a different color, to mark the central ingredient of the fragrance.

Calabrian bergamot
Calabrian bergamot is harvested from the green-skinned fruit of a small tree that thrives in the Mediterranean climate. Its scent is sharp and zesty, with hints of lemon and orange, yet carries a subtle floral nuance that sets it apart from other citrus fruits. The essence extracted from these fruits is highly prized for its ability to bring brightness and life to perfumes.

Neroli
Neroli is extracted from the blossoms of the bitter orange tree, capturing a fresh yet warm aroma with hints of sweetness. Its fragrance is both green and floral, evoking springtime in an Italian garden. This essence has been cherished for centuries, blending seamlessly into compositions that range from classic to contemporary.

Vetiver
Vetiver, harvested from the roots of a tall grass native to India, exudes an earthy aroma that is both dry and slightly sweet. Its scent profile ranges from smoky and leathery to green and fresh, depending on how it’s distilled and aged. This versatile note thrives in tropical climates and has long been cherished for its grounding qualities.
