Jicky Eau de Toilette, launched by Guerlain in 1889 and created by Aimé Guerlain, is a pioneering Oriental Fougère fragrance for women that marked the beginning of modern perfumery. It was the first to incorporate synthetic coumarin, adding an unprecedented depth and warmth to its composition. Jicky opens with a burst of citrus from bergamot, lemon, and mandarin orange, which contrasts sharply with the aromatic freshness of rosemary and lavender. The heart notes of jasmine and orris introduce a floral complexity, while the base layers of vanilla, benzoin, spices, leather, sandalwood, amber, and palisander rosewood create an enveloping warmth that lingers long after application.
