L'Anarchiste by Caron was launched in 2000, crafted by perfumer Richard Fraysse. This fragrance is a blend of woody and aromatic notes with a hint of cinnamon and musk that creates an intriguing contrast between fresh green tones and warm spices. The composition opens with mint and African orange flower before transitioning into the heart of vetyver, Virginia cedar, guaiac wood, sandalwood, and finally settling on a musky base with white floral accents. It is neither overtly sweet nor overly sharp but rather a harmonious blend that speaks to both its name and its maker's vision.

Richard Fraysse, a third-generation perfumer and son of Lanvin's André Fraysse (creator of Arpège), was the in-house perfumer for the House of Caron — a company that, from its founding, has always employed its own dedicated nose. His creations for Caron include Délire de Roses (2011), Impact Pour Un Homme (2005), and L'Anarchiste (2000). He has since retired, passing the role to his son William Fraysse.
