Launched in 2016, L'Eau d'Issey Pure Eau de Toilette by Issey Miyake is a blend of marine and white floral accords that captures the essence of Japanese elegance. Perfumers Claire Liégent and Dominique Ropion created this fragrance with Sea Notes at its core, complemented by the softness of lily, jasmine, orange blossom, and damask rose. The base notes of cashmere wood and ambergris add a subtle warmth and animalic depth that grounds the composition.

Claire Liégent was born in the Champagne region and grew up in her father's restaurant, developing an early sensitivity to scent. She trained at ISIPCA from 2007 and apprenticed at Symrise, then worked at IFF and IFF-LMR in Grasse before moving to Takasago, where she has created fragrances for Giorgio Armani, Lancôme, and Yves Saint Laurent, including YSL Y. In 2012 she co-founded the Parisian niche boutique Nose.
