The Story

Jacques Cavallier Belletrud crafted Le Feu d'Issey in 1998 for Issey Miyake, a brand known for its innovative and minimalist approach to fashion. This fragrance opens with the freshness of coriander leaf and bergamot, creating an aromatic and citrusy beginning that feels crisp yet intriguing. The heart reveals a delicate balance of rose, jasmine, and golden lily, adding a layer of floral sweetness without overpowering the composition. As it settles into its woody base notes of guaiac wood, sandalwood, and cedar, the scent takes on a warm, powdery quality that is both comforting and sophisticated.

Application Tips

One or two sprays is enough to capture the essence of this fragrance. The aromatic top notes fade within a couple of hours, but the powdery and woody base lingers throughout the day. It reads better close to skin than in the air, so consider applying it directly on pulse points for a more intimate experience.
