Launched in 2021 by Zoologist Perfumes and crafted by Mackenzie Reilly, Macaque Fuji Apple Edition is a Woody Oriental fragrance that captures the essence of an unexpected encounter. The composition opens with a bright, crisp apple note, which contrasts beautifully with warm spices like olibanum and juniper berries. As it evolves, hinoki wood and sandalwood ground the scent in earthy tones, while myrrh and labdanum add a rich, amber warmth that lingers long after initial application.

Mackenzie Reilly, born and raised in New York, studied the anthropology of scent in college before working at the luxury publishing house Assouline. She joined IFF in 2010 as assistant to the Director of the New York Creative Center and was admitted to the IFF Perfumer School in 2013, going on to work as a fine fragrance perfumer at IFF in New York.
