Mandragore Pourpre by Goutal, launched in 2009 and crafted by perfumers Camille Goutal and Isabelle Doyen, is a composition that balances the freshness of star anise with the warmth of amber. The fragrance opens with a bright burst of bergamot and mint, giving way to the spicy complexity of pepper and rosemary. As it develops, geranium and heliotrope add floral notes, while patchouli and myrrh deepen its earthy undertones. This blend creates a distinctive aromatic blend that is both invigorating and comforting.
