Launched in 2014, Marrakech Intense Eau de Toilette by Aesop is a fragrance that captures the essence of an aromatic and spicy journey through the Moroccan city. Created by perfumer Barnabé Fillion, this composition opens with bright bergamot and cardamom before diving into a heart of rose and jasmine, eventually settling into a base of sandalwood and cedar. The interplay between these notes creates a warm, woody aroma that evokes the rich textures and fragrances of Marrakech's vibrant streets.

Barnabé Fillion trained in photography before pursuing a thesis on synesthesia and studying naturopathy, phytotherapy, and aromatherapy. He worked as Aesop's in-house perfumer for a decade, creating all of the brand's fragrances and its first candles, including the reimagined Marrakech Intense Eau de Toilette. His 'Biography' series with artist Anicka Yi reconstructed the imagined scent-personalities of historical figures, and he later founded Arpa, a multi-platform project combining scent, music, and architecture.
