Launched in 2026 by Fugazzi, Matchabuya is a Woody Aromatic fragrance designed to evoke the serene yet dynamic essence of nature. Created by perfumer Julien Rasquinet, this composition opens with bergamot and lemongrass, creating an invigorating freshness that cuts through with zesty clarity. The heart introduces matcha tea, which adds a subtle earthiness and a hint of green complexity, while the base notes of hinoki wood, seaweed, musk, and cedar provide a grounding warmth and depth.

How It Wears
Application Tips
One or two sprays is sufficient — the citrus and aromatic top notes are bright but fleeting. The base notes bloom gradually, so it's best to let it settle on your skin for about an hour before heading out. This fragrance reads better close to the skin than across a room.

Julien Rasquinet’s life took a decisive turn when his father met nose extraordinaire Pierre Bourdon, by accident in an airport. Rasquinet who didn’t know anything about perfumery beyond his own passion for it, called Bourdon, who decided to take him instead of thousands of other candidates to be his last student, and bare his legacy, as Edmond Roudnitska had done with him. Call it perfumer’s intuition.
