The story behind the bottle.
Editor in Chief by Michael Malul London, launched in 2024 and crafted by perfumer Richard Herpin, is a Woody Aromatic fragrance that weaves together warmth and depth with a sophisticated edge. The composition opens with the spicy notes of clove and cinnamon, which blend seamlessly into an apple's crispness, creating an initial burst of vibrancy. As it settles, cashmere wood, patchouli, and labdanum introduce a rich, balsamic texture that is further enhanced by the earthy presence of vetiver and orris. The base notes of birch, cedarwood, sandalwood, tonka bean, and vanilla create a warm, powdery leather accord that feels both comforting and refined.
This fragrance develops best when applied to pulse points. The spicy top notes dissipate within an hour, making way for a long-lasting base that reads better close to skin than across a room. It works well in cooler environments but can also be worn year-round.
