Launched in 2000 by Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle, Musc Ravageur is a bold and unapologetic composition crafted by perfumer Maurice Roucel. This fragrance has been hailed as Roucel's magnum opus and remains one of Frederic Malle’s bestsellers. The scent opens with an invigorating burst of lavender and citrus notes before diving into the heart of cinnamon, cloves, and orris root, which add a warm spiciness to the composition. At its core, Musc Ravageur is defined by its rich, enveloping musk and vanilla base, combined with amber and tonka bean for an intensely sensual experience that was controversial upon release for its bold, sexually charged character.

Application Tips
Musc Ravageur is a scent that blooms slowly on skin. Apply two sprays at pulse points to allow it to develop fully. The musk and amber base notes take time to reveal their depth, making this fragrance ideal for evenings or special occasions when you want a scent that evolves throughout the night.

“I compose for the skin, not the blotter. A fragrance only truly exists when it meets warmth.”
Maurice Roucel is a master perfumer at Symrise whose prolific career spans five decades and hundreds of fragrances. Born in Saint-Girons in the French Pyrenees, he is celebrated for his ability to create scents of extraordinary sensuality — compositions that caress the skin and linger in memory. His masterpieces include Guerlain's Insolence, Lancôme's Trésor Midnight, and the landmark 24 Faubourg for Hermès. Roucel works with an almost musical sensibility, building fragrances in waves of tension and release.
