Launched in 2018 by Tom Ford, Ombre Leather 2018 reimagines the brand's original 2016 Private Blend Ombré Leather as a standalone pillar fragrance. Perfumer Sonia Constant crafts this scent around a core of warm, smoky leather that is both animalic and earthy. The opening cardamom brings a spicy brightness that contrasts with the deep, velvety jasmine sambac in the heart. This composition settles into an amber and moss base that exudes comfort and warmth.
Community debate surrounds whether this reformulated version, which swaps out violet leaf for amber, is as strong as its predecessor. Yet, most reviewers still rate it highly, praising its depth and complexity.
