The Story

Launched in 1781 and created by James Henry Creed First Generation and Olivier Creed, Royal English Leather is a lasting fragrance that epitomizes the brand's legacy of elegance and craftsmanship. The composition opens with a bright citrus blend of mandarin orange and bergamot, which cuts through the richness of its base notes. These include leather, ambergris, sandalwood, and warm spices, creating an aura of sophistication and depth. This fragrance is neither overly sweet nor heavy; instead, it strikes a balance between fresh vibrancy and smoky warmth, evoking the essence of luxury and heritage.

Apply Royal English Leather in light layers to allow its nuanced blend of citruses and leathers to unfold gradually. The smoky base notes develop over time, so it's best worn during cooler hours when you can appreciate its full depth.

James Henry Creed First Generation · Portrait

James Henry Creed founded the House of Creed in 1760 on Conduit Street in London as a tailoring house serving British royalty and aristocracy, the first generation of the family perfumery. His son Henry expanded the business to Paris, becoming the first English tailor to open there, and was granted a Royal Warrant in 1885; the house later transitioned from tailoring into perfumery across seven generations.
