Royal Oud by Creed was launched in 2011 and created by Olivier Creed and Julien Rasquinet. This fragrance is an oriental fougère that challenges the very essence of its name, often criticized for lacking a pronounced oud character, instead offering a refined blend of cedar and woody notes. The composition opens with pink pepper and lemon, giving way to a heart of angelica and galbanum before settling into a base of sandalwood, agarwood (oud), and musk. Despite its name, Royal Oud is more about creating an accessible oud experience for Western noses, avoiding the aggressive or medicinal qualities often associated with traditional oud.
