Samba Ruby by Perfumer's Workshop was launched in 2016 and is an Oriental Floral fragrance for women crafted by perfumer Gil Clavien. This composition opens with the vibrant sweetness of strawberry and nectarine, creating a playful yet sensual introduction. The heart melds rose and dahlia with star anise and black licorice to create an intriguing contrast between floral delicacy and spicy warmth. It settles into a base of benzoin, tonka bean, patchouli, sandalwood, and orchid, which anchors the fragrance with rich amber and vanilla notes. Gil Clavien Giannoni, raised near the Matterhorn in Switzerland, earned a master's in biology from the University of Geneva in 1989 before joining Firmenich as an Assistant Perfumer, working with Tony Morris and Francis Deleamont. She spent three years as a perfumer in Germany and time at Firmenich's Japan office before becoming a principal perfumer at Firmenich in 1997, working across mass-market and fine fragrance.
