Launched in 2019 by Matière Première, Santal Austral is a woody-oriental fragrance created by perfumer Aurélien Guichard. The composition opens with the floral and slightly medicinal iris before diving into the heart of sandalwood, which reads as warm and balsamic. The base notes of tonka bean and benzoin add a powdery, amber richness that anchors the scent in earthy comfort. This fragrance is neither overtly masculine nor feminine but instead offers a unisex warmth that feels like an embrace.
