Scandal by Jean Paul Gaultier is a bold, provocative fragrance that was launched in 2017. Created by perfumers Daphné Bugey, Fabrice Pellegrin, and Christophe Raynaud, it's built around an unusual honey-gardenia-patchouli gourmand accord. The bottle features a distinctive golden leg stopper, which adds to its provocative nature. Scandal’s campaign tells the fictional story of model Vanessa Axente living a double life as a government minister by day and a 'scandalous' figure by night, blending sex-and-politics imagery into its narrative.
The scent itself opens with bright blood orange and mandarin, quickly giving way to honey and caramel that create an intriguing sweetness. The heart of gardenia and jasmine adds a floral warmth, while beeswax brings a subtle animalic note. Patchouli anchors the base, grounding the composition in earthy depth.

Application Tips
Apply Scandal to pulse points for a strong presence that evolves throughout the day. The honey-caramel opening fades within two hours, but the patchouli base lingers longer, so a lighter first pass can be built upon as needed.
