Launched in 1925 by Guerlain and crafted by Jacques Guerlain, Shalimar Parfum is an Oriental fragrance that embodies the brand's tradition of using luxurious materials such as French vanilla and rare florals. The composition opens with a bright burst of bergamot and floral notes before giving way to rich iris, rose, and jasmine. At its core, vanilla and tonka bean create a warm, sweet embrace, while ethylvanillin adds an extra layer of depth and complexity.

Apply Shalimar Parfum to pulse points and let it settle for a few minutes before leaving. The fragrance opens up quickly, but the base notes take about an hour to fully bloom, so a light hand is advised.

As the third-generation perfumer of the House of Guerlain, he elevated the family craft into high art. Working in the legendary Guerlain laboratory on the Champs-Élysées, he drew inspiration from love, literature, and travel to create fragrances of unprecedented emotional depth. Shalimar, inspired by the gardens of the Taj Mahal and his love affair with a woman whose identity remains mysterious, is perhaps the most celebrated perfume in history.
