Serge de Oliveira crafted Soprano by Xerjoff in 2019, a fragrance that marries the brightness of litchi and freesia with the depth of oud and patchouli. The composition opens with a fruity vibrancy from litchi and calabrian bergamot, before transitioning into a heart of Bulgarian rose and Egyptian jasmine. These florals are enveloped by the rich, woody notes of agarwood (oud) and patchouli, creating an intricate blend that is both delicate and profound.

Serge de Oliveira began his career in 2002 as an assistant at IFF under perfumer Richard Ibanez, developing an affinity for woody notes like vetiver and patchouli. He joined Robertet in Grasse, becoming a perfumer there in 2013 before moving to its Paris creative centre, and is known as an 'author perfumer' working in natural perfumery, collaborating with brands including Ormaie and 100BON.
