Launched in 2019 by Zoologist Perfumes and crafted by perfumer Céline Barel, Squid is an aromatic aquatic fragrance that captures the essence of the ocean's depths. The scent opens with a salty freshness from sea salt and amyl salicylate, evoking the briny air at the water’s edge. This marine note gives way to a heart of pink pepper and ink, creating a distinctive contrast between the sharpness of the spices and the subtle smokiness of the ink. In the base, ambergris and benzoin blend with musk to create a warm, enveloping finish that feels both intimate and mysterious.
