Created by Maurice Roucel and Pierre-Constantin Guéros in 2019, The Other Side of Oud by Atkinsons is a unisex Oriental Woody fragrance that combines the warmth of oud with spicy and aromatic notes. Cardamom and cinnamon introduce a fresh and warm spiciness, leading to a rich heart of agarwood (oud) and coffee blossom. Roasted coffee beans and vanilla absolute anchor the base, creating an intense yet balanced composition. This fragrance is a modern interpretation of traditional woody accords, offering a sophisticated blend that feels both lasting and contemporary.

Application Tips
Apply this fragrance to pulse points for maximum impact. The roasted coffee beans are particularly noticeable at first but gradually give way to the deep oud notes over time. For best results, avoid layering with other strong scents as it tends to read well on its own.

“I compose for the skin, not the blotter. A fragrance only truly exists when it meets warmth.”
Maurice Roucel is a master perfumer at Symrise whose prolific career spans five decades and hundreds of fragrances. Born in Saint-Girons in the French Pyrenees, he is celebrated for his ability to create scents of extraordinary sensuality — compositions that caress the skin and linger in memory. His masterpieces include Guerlain's Insolence, Lancôme's Trésor Midnight, and the landmark 24 Faubourg for Hermès. Roucel works with an almost musical sensibility, building fragrances in waves of tension and release.

The quiet intensity of an after-dinner conversation in a well-lit study, where the rich aroma of coffee mingles with warm spices and the subtle smokiness of wood.
