Released in 1990, Action Donna belongs to a moment when women's fragrances weren't afraid to be enormous - hyacinth, tuberose, and jasmine stacked eight notes deep in the heart, with orange blossom and rose filling in any gaps. What keeps it from tipping into syrup is the galbanum and oakmoss working the edges: a bitter green cut on the way in, a mossy dryness on the way out, both refusing to let the white florals coast. Cyclamen adds a faint metallic sharpness mid-composition, a small dissonant note in an otherwise lush arrangement. It's a fragrance built for presence, not politeness.
