Un Jardin Sous la Mer by Hermès, launched in 2026 and composed by Christine Nagel, imagines an underwater garden around the island of Taha'a in French Polynesia. The fragrance balances a lush floral bouquet with mineral notes that evoke coral reefs and the meeting of land and sea. It opens with bright tiare flower and tamanu nut, giving way to a musky, powdery base that carries subtle saline and woody nuances. This unisex Eau de Toilette is part of Hermès' ongoing exploration of garden themes but translates them into an aquatic setting, creating a transparent and fresh composition.

Application Tips
One or two sprays are enough to capture the essence of this fragrance. The mineral notes come through quickly but the floral heart takes a bit longer to bloom, so allow a few minutes for it to fully settle on your skin.

“I think of fragrance as fabric — it should drape beautifully around whoever wears it.”
Christine Nagel is the in-house perfumer at Hermès, succeeding the legendary Jean-Claude Ellena in 2016. A graduate of ISIPCA and trained at Charabot in Grasse, she brings decades of experience to one of perfumery's most prestigious creative positions.
