Launched in 2020 by Meo Fusciuni and crafted by perfumer Giuseppe Imprezzabile, Varanasi is an Oriental Spicy fragrance that captures the essence of a mystical city. The composition opens with incense and saffron, creating an immediate sense of warmth and depth, which is further enhanced by notes of nutmeg and cardamom. As it settles, ambergris and cypriol oil blend seamlessly into a smoky, earthy base that includes oud, leather, and vetiver, evoking the rich textures and aromas of Varanasi itself.

Application Tips
Apply Varanasi lightly at first to let its complex layers unfold gradually. The smoky base notes emerge after about an hour, so a second light spritz can enhance the longevity without overpowering. Best experienced close to skin rather than diffused across a room.

Giuseppe Imprezzabile was born in Mazara del Vallo, Sicily, in 1977, and studied Herbal Techniques at the pharmaceutical faculty in Parma before continuing into anthropology and ethnobotany. Perfumery became his full-time work from 2009, working under the pseudonym Meo Fusciuni — combining his father's nickname 'Meo' and his grandfather's nickname 'Fusciuni' — and preferring to describe himself as an 'Aromatario' rather than a perfumer.
