Asghar Adam Ali
Asghar Adam Ali was born in 1953 in Aden, Yemen, into a fragrance family — his father a perfumer, his mother a maker of perfumes and bakhoors who tested her creations on him as a child. In 1969, at 16, he founded Nabeel Perfumes as a small Aden shop, relaunching it in the UAE in 1990 after political unrest forced his family's relocation; in 2019 he unveiled Shumukh, a diamond-and-gold-adorned perfume that set Guinness World Records as the most expensive fragrance, and in 2024 launched Asghar Adam Ali Parfums under his own name.
