Ashley Santiago discovered perfume through blogs as a teenager and, while working at a San Francisco fragrance boutique, was encouraged by perfumers to pursue chemistry as a path into the field.

In 2025 she launched her own niche brand, French Cowboy, with her husband and co-founder Adrien Ollat.
