Ellena

The third generation of a Grasse dynasty

Céline Ellena is a perfumer born and raised in Grasse into a family of noses — her grandfather, father, and uncle were all perfumers — who made her first attempt at composing a fragrance from olives, flowers, and mint at age six.

Céline's story

The story

She trained at ISIPCA in Versailles and worked at Haarmann & Reimer, Symrise, and Charabot before taking over from her father, Jean-Claude Ellena, as the perfumer for The Different Company, where she created Sublime Balkiss, Pure eVe, De Bachmakov, and Sel de Vetiver. She credits her family's tradition of smelling everything — from food to earth — with training her olfactory instincts from an early age.

How Céline works

Signature

Distinctive, timeless compositions shaped by a childhood where smelling everything, from soap-clean patchouli to rose, was second nature.
